Night Blooming Cereus

We all know that flowers grow by using sunlight (and definitely water), but have you heard of flowers that grow only at night? Well, this flower is called night blooming cereus, and it is actually a cactus flower. It grows only once a month during the summer time, so the chance of seeing it is very rare. Fortunately, my mom plants one in front of our house, and I just love the smell of it when it blooms. It's a sweet scent, but it's not overpowering at the same time.

I've been more active on Munchy's Adventure lately, so I apologize for the lack of updates on here. Truthfully, I've been just too lazy to copy and paste onto two weblogs, and there's no way I'm going to do that on here, so here are some recap links on that side of the photo-log! Enjoy!

Chinese Cultural Festival

I had almost forgotten that I went to the Chinese Cultural Festival with my mom on April 26th. I knew I was forgetting something to upload. Anyway, this was my final Photojournalism assignment topic as well. I had to do a photo story, and my main focus of this one is the Chinese culture. I think that the Chinese culture has a lot of variety in terms of the food they eat, the way they dress on certain ocassions, the type of music they play, etc. I was very excited to do this assignment as well because it is what I am most familiar at.

Fuji Ramen

» Fuji Ramen
537 W. Valley Blvd
San Gabriel, CA 91778

If any of you live in southern California, you know how bipolar the weather has been lately. For example, it was in the 90's, and then it suddenly became 50's and 60's with thunderstorms. Well, my mom, my aunt, and I went out to eat at Fuji Ramen in San Gabriel because they sell ramen for $4.99 (plus tax) each. Although I thought the presentation of the ramen lacked a bit, the taste of them were decent. The price of it was definitely worth it, though, especially when the bowls of their ramen were pretty huge, too. It was definitely satisfying in the cold weather.
